Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, March 31st, 2006 Media Perception Limited has launched POLSAFE - Police Secure Asset Folder.

POLSAFE is a quick and secure way of downloading images off a digital camera onto a "Write Once Read Many" (WORM) CD. A "locked down" laptop which can only run POLSAFE preserves the integrity of the images. All images saved to CD are viewable from any computer.

"The system has been deployed by the British Army in a number of war zones from Bosnia through to Iraq ," explains Mike Kavanagh, Managing Director of Media Perception, "and has been successfully tested under the most demanding operational conditions."

POLSAFE has a straightforward user interface designed for the British Army to be used in operational conditions. Whilst out in the field a police officer can catalogue each image from a list of keywords. At the same time free text notes can be made of each image. Areas within an image of specific interest can be marked out and annotated.

Besides the original images a report document is created containing smaller versions of the images along with keywords and notes. Additional files are created which can be used to copy the images and their data records into a central image store.
