Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, UK, January 31st, 2006, Media Perception Limited has launched POLDIS - the Police Digital Interview System. POLDIS is a new digital audio/visual interview recording system that complies with Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) guidelines for interviewing. Interviews are now easier to manage as all recordings are placed in a central system. Transcripts are simpler to prepare with a transcription tool built in. The integrity of recordings is maintained and supported by audit reports that are produced.

Working copies can be made from masters within the system. The Crown Prosecution Service and other groups can share access to interview recordings through secure logins. Material is protected throughout its life by a combination of backup, archive, and disaster recovery procedures. All archived material can be easily located and retrieved at any time.

"The benefits of the move from analogue to digital should be so much more than just replacing tapes with CDs or DVDs. The beauty of this system is that it is based on established technology. Solutions using this technology have been deployed for many years in radio and television stations throughout the world, offering round the clock reliability," explains Mike Kavanagh, Managing Director of Media Perception.
